Link: Magnetic needlebook tutorial :) I have had so many email about my A Bird in Hand stitcher's book finish :) I didn't have anything big enough stitched up to make another stitcher's book so that I could do a tutorial-but this small magnetic needlebook basically uses the SAME technique I used for the stitcher's book. I put this one together today-the stitched piece was a piece stitched in a LONG ago RR and is stitched by Lani. I am happy to finally have it finished off into something useful :)
I don't really care for doing tutorials as I am MUCH more the hands on type demonstrator/teacher....but because so many of you have asked I couldn't say no :)And you're all so sweet with your comments/emails-how could I refuse :) PLEASE, if you have questions- email me as I would prefer answering them in an email than trying to answer here on my blog :) Thanks so much :)
Though this has no pocket to hold things like a hornbook (which is what is pictured in my stitcher's book for those that asked-I plan to do an ABC finish for it soon)-it's still basically the very same finish :) I also used a piece of fabric for the spine instead of using just the ribbon that ties the book shut :) Please visit my Tutorial here :) I have tried my best to simplify the finish for those that have emailed that they have NO sewing skills whatsoever. This one is very simple and anyone can do this finishing.

Thank you so much for you continued visits to my blog. I enjoy hearing from you so very much :) Please do come again :) hugs and love from SC, BeckySC :) |

Link: A Bird in Hand stitcher's book :) Hello friends !! What a wonderfully glorious day we are having here in my part of the world :) We have been enjoying our day outside for the most part...the weather is just gorgeous :) I forgot to wear my hat and now my face is sunburned :) I had to come in though and do the finishing on A Bird in Hand as I thought about it all day while working in the yard and just couldn't wait to get inside and do the finishing :) Have I EVER mentioned that I enjoy finishing as much as stitching??? Oh, only about a million times huh?? :) :) :)
I decided that I would enjoy a needlebook/scissors keeper to keep beside my primary stitching chair and since I LOVE how this design stitched up and will enjoy looking at it daily, I decided to finish A Bird in Hand in that way :) I adore this finish and everything about the whole design/finish to be honest :) I think it is one of my most favorite pieces :)

Design: A Bird in Hand Designer: La-D-Da Fabric: 36 ct. dyed by BeckySC Fibers: GAST & CC Date Started: 3-31-10 Date Finished: 4-2-10
I really can't thank you all enough for your sweet comments on my previous post :) I appreciate them so very much-you always make it such a joy to share something I am so passionate about :) THANK YOU for that :) Thanks for stopping by and PLEASE do come again :) Love and hugs from SC, BeckySC :) |

Link: A Bird in Hand.... You know, my great-grandmother always quoted this saying :) While stitching on this I am constantly reminded of her :) I LOVE that :)Isn't it amazing how such simple things can bring those cherished memories?? I started this last night and I am loving it! I had to do a fiber conversion as I did not have the called for Needlepoint Silks-so I switched out to Gast and CC. I love the colors I chose :) I also had to dye some fabric as I did not have the called for fabric.

Design: A Bird in Hand Designer: La-D-Da Fabric: 36 ct. dyed by BeckySC Fibers: GAST & CC Date Started: 3-31-10
