Design: Liberty House Sampler Designer: Heart in Hand Fabric: 32ct. Natural Fibers: DMC Start Date: 6-11-2010 Finish Date: 6-12-2010

The winner of the floss tag is Taylor. I have sent you an email Taylor VIA the email you sent in to add your name to the bowl. PLEASE contact me with your mailing info as soon as you can.

another cross stitch addict 2010-06-10:
Link: Miscellaneous (not inspired for a title...) Hi Stitchers!
Time just seems to fly by... It's been one month since I last posted!
I have some stitching to share, nothing seasonal though... Spring does not appeal to me. Nor summer. Go explain...
I have stitched this design by Lizzie Kate in memory of my beloved Phoebe who passed away almost one year ago. I gave her colours to the orange heart. I used to say that she was a heart stealer...
Phoebe loved comfy places, sleeping on our head, scrubbing our chins (and in particular, DH's lol!) with her head and she would talk to me for hours, through long glances and sweet meows... I miss her. This pic of her with a Xmas hat is a perfect introduction for this chap:
Isn't he the cutest reindeer ever? I love that he's shy. This is a design by Angel Stitching from JCS ornies 2009. I love Angel Stitching designs, they're cheerful. :D You can see the backing fabric, much in the same mood. I have slightly altered the design using different beads and adding a beaded star that follows the tree's movement towards the left. I have also added a stitched border and turned it into a small pillow.
Finally, this is my contribution to the Hallosal for June. This design was offered by Gen on her Board. It is quite large actually, and I have had a raw deal stitching one on one on this fabric (28 count but dark...). I'm a bit disappointed with the colours but they were my choices. If I had followed Gen's chart, it would've been more beautiful... I still have to add a bat button in the upper right corner.
Things are strange here. A few days ago, I have discovered that our daughter aged nine had lied to her teacher and to us in order to play truant. The teacher had decided to have the kids at school on a Wednesday morning, and Daphné just didn't want to go so she didn't give us the paper and she told the teacher that we were going to a concert on Tuesday night so she would be too tired to attend school. And nobody checked. And the kiddo stayed comfortably in bed then... Gosh, you can imagine how I felt about it when one of her classmates asked me if I had enjoyed the concert (unforgettable, kiddo...). Angry to DD, but also to the teacher! When my 14 year old does not attend a class, they call us; when my nine year old baby is in nature, nobody cares... She's been drastically punished (no video games for two weeks and more homework to do)... Can you imagine how I dread her teenage years? (((shivers)))
And now, here's a great plug, valid only until next Monday/Tuesday. You may know the talented French Designer Nathalie Cichon at Jardin Privé. Visit this page and create your own patchwork chart. All you have to do is type in the numbers in the grid, then click on actualiser, and then click on imprimer la grille. Enjoy! And don't forget that Nathalie also offers all her other designs in pdf so no need to wait, no shipping costs, piece of cake, piece of pie...
Second great plug? Visit this French site and click on Grilles Gratuites. There's a stunning new Tralala kitty freebie that I have already stitched...
That's it for now.
Hugs to you all, Stitchers!

Link: Liberty Another one for my 4th of July display :) This is my second time stitching this design. It is a Bent Creek Zipper and the first time I stitched it with the supplies provided in the kit. I LIKE this one MUCH better using 32ct fabric :) It's MUCH smaller than the first one I stitched years ago on the called for 18ct. Linen. I had the perfect finishing fabric in my stash-it compliments the stars in the stitched design :)

Design: Liberty Designer: Bent Creek Fabric: 32ct. Natural Fibers: DMC & GAST Start Date: 6-8-2010 Finish Date: 6-8-2010
Someone asked where I get all my cute charts...some of them I have had for MANY years :) and some are OOP now. I acquired a great many charts when I worked at my LNS because of an employee discount:) Nowadays I purchase from Amy at Down Sunshine Lane and my LNS. There are lots of great charts out there-you just have to do a search for the "type" of chart you want and order it. I KNOW Amy will ship anywhere :)
MANY have asked and I have answered this before..."how do I accomplish so much stitching?" I NEVER sit idle :) I do everything within a day that needs to be done and take the best care of my family and home and YES my home is clean-I am a neat freak and things have to be in order-that's one of the reasons I have extra time-I never let things get out of order and cleaning in my home is relatively easy-I shop for groceries and do yard work and just everyday things that need doing-BUT the main thing is I never sit idle-if I am sitting down resting, I AM stitching :) I no longer have young children at home so that makes it much easier to stitch more often and my hubby is VERY supportive of my stitching and other hobbies :) YES, I sleep :) I am a bit of a night owl though as I usually go to bed around 1am and I am up taking my dogs out by 8am :) See...no magic beans or stitchy elves in my home...just a very organized ME :)
Thank you all so much for your sweet comments and your personal email :) I appreciate them so very much :) And I love hearing from you all :) Thanks for stopping by :) Please do come again :) hugs and love, BeckySC |

Happiness is cross stitching 2010-06-06:
Link: More exchanges!
Hi everyone, I have been doing quite a few exchanges lately, here is the one I sent to Hazel from the Quietly Stitching blog this week. (The exchange I received from Hazel is shown below) I made the box and covered it with this beautiful fabric from Shabby Fabrics in America, I also made the pinkeeps and little pillow using free patterns from:
Gazette 94 for the rose pattern, please see previous post for the link to this pattern. Amitie pattern is from DesFilles et une Aiguille hereI made the polymer clay roses and the buttons from polymer clay.
Hazel sent me the most gorgeous stitching set below, I am thrilled with it. Hazel made the gorgeous bag and filled it with the lovely matching needlebook and little scissor pillow. Thanyou Hazel, I shall treasure them always.
Thankyou for all of the lovely comments, I really appreciate them. Happy stitching! |

Link: Summer ?? Not quite yet...but it sure feels like it here the past few days! It has been HOT!!! I always have displays for each season as well as most holidays in my home. I have 4 small Christmas trees that stay out year round for some my displays and I have baskets and boxes and just whatever else I can think of that holds my stitching displays :) I am working on my Summer/July 4th displays right now :) I started this cute design (this is my second time stitching it-the first time I finished it as a needle roll and sent it to a friend)last night and finished it up this afternoon. I made this one a hanging pillow finish and it's too cute!! The design works well for both Summer and the 4th :)
I used a CUTE fabric with watermelon seeds on it for the back :)

Notice the quilt underneath?? That was made by my great grandmother over 46 years ago. It is made from fabrics she took from clothing and scraps. It is among my MOST treasured possessions. I sure wish she were here today to "create" with me :)

Design: Summer Solstice Needle roll Designer:Eventide Fabric: unknown (I am trying to use of some of my scraps that are left over from previous projects) Fibers: DMC & WDW Date Started:6-5-2010 Date Finished: 6-6-2010 I have Happy Flag Flag Day pulled to start this evening :) Should be another FUN stitch!
Some ladies from church save me their Altoids tins...I collected a box full this morning :) I better get busy...LOL!
Thank you for visiting friends :) I appreciate your comments and personal email :) You're all so kind :) I ENJOY hearing from you :)
Have a most lovely new week :) hugs and love from SC, BeckySC |
